Lianghui Development Zone


  Yuyao Economic Development Area is one of the key economic development zones in Zhejiang province. It is also the new high-tech industrial park of Yuyao city. The area can be divided into two parts: Zone A and Zone B according to geographical environment and professional characteristics. Zone A lies in the south of the city proper, reaching the outer ring road on the east and south, joining the Hu-Hang-Yong Expressway, Zone A has an area of 3.84 square kilometers. Zone B lies in the west of the city proper, joining the Xiao-Yong (Xiaoshan-Ningbo) Railway on the north. It has an area of 3.18 square kilometers. After several years of construction, Yuyao Economic Development Area is taking shape.

  Infrastructures have continued to be improved. Some high-standard roads, underground pipelines and accessory facilities have been built up in the area. The roads are broad, making green, clean and beautiful scenery. Communications

facilities are advanced, with mobile communications and international Internet services available, communications means are automatic. Data transmission has become the sole means of transmission.

  The branch post office in the area with a program controlled telephone capacity of 50,000 lines is already in operation. The area possesses a complete set of power transmission and transforming equipment, including a 110-kv transforming station, two 35-kv transforming stations and two power plants, with the generation capacity reaching 1.37 million kW. In order to protect the environment and save energy, a heat and power plant has been built in the area. It has a gas supplying capacity of 150 T/h and provides stable, up-to-standard and sufficient heat for enterprises. The area also enjoys a bountiful supply of water resources. The total water reserve of the Siming Lake reservoir, the Lianghui Reservoir, the Lubu Reservoir and the Yaojiang River is up to 275 million cubic meters. The No.3 Water Plant in the area with a daily output of 40,000 tons has started to work. Also set up in the area are customs, commodity inspection institutions, bonded warehouse, customs brokerages, banks and other service institutions involving foreign countries and foreigners. There are also daily life service facilities like the 3-star Fuda Hotel and Yuli Hotel.

  Management and service have also improved. Institutions in the area are streamlined and efficient, capable of providing foreign investors with package services including consulting, intermediary services, formalities handling, etc. The Management Committee of the area is entitled to approved foreign-invested projects with the total investment less than US$20 million, corresponding domestically invited projects, and relevant accessory projects. The area enjoys not only the same preferential policies granted to coastal open areas and province-level development zones, but also preferential pollicies particularly offered by the Yuyao CPC committee and the city government to development zones. It will strive to create a first-rate atmosphere for attracting business, conducting business and reassuring business people, as well as the right environment for assembling, using and reassuring talents.


  First-rate environment, best service and special and preferential policies are the wings of the area. Over the past few years, it has ushered in 270 projects, the total investment being 2.3 billion yuan. Of the projects, 27 are foreign-invested enterprises. The contracted foreign investment is US$111 million, with US$54.3486 million actually invested. The total industrial output of the area was 1.81 billion yuan in 1998. The sales income was 1.685 billion yuan. The export delivery value was 560 million yuan, 45 million of which was self-operated export. The Zhejiang Far East Industrial City was planned and developed by Zhejiang Far East Development Co., Ltd., a company formed by a group of Taiwan business people. It covers an area of 2.2 square kilometers. Over 40 enterprises from Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia, Australia and other countries and regions have registered here and started production one by one.

  Under the joint sponsorship of the local government and China¨s Light Industry General Association, China (Yuyao) Light Mould City has taken shape with a scheduled floor space of 120 hectares. The Mold City¨s first phase project, occupying a floor space of 10 hectares, has been completed and put into operation. The 150-hectare China Plastics City was already opened for business. Its first phase project, occupying 7.5 hectares, has seen enthusiastic market reactions and secured an annual sales volume of 5 billion yuan. So far, the construction of its second phase project, which is scheduled to occupy 34.5 hectares, has been underway. This phase of project will include three sectors, namely, the plastic raw materials trading sector, the plastic industry development sector and the comprehensive service sector. Yuyao has become one of the country¨s biggest trading and distributing center for plastic raw materials, plastic machinery and plastic molds.
